The Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas hosted the 2008 Sports Medicine Traveling Fellowship participants July 5-9. The traveling fellowship program is an annual scientific and cultural exchange among orthopaedic sports medicine physicians in North America, Europe, Latin America and the Pacific Rim organized by the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSS). Fellows are selected to visit foreign sports medicine centers for three weeks and our clinic was the last on the seven clinic stop tour.
The visitors included: Hasio-Li Ma, MD, current Division Chief for the Division of Sports Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital; Bavornrit Chuchpaiwong, MD, a Clinical Instructor in the Sports Medicine Division, Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Department of Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand; Ho-Joong Jung, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Instructor at the Knee Joint Center at the Medical Center of Chung-Ang University in Seoul, Korea; Egemen Turhan, MD; Egemen Turhan, MD, Faculty position in the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumotology, Bayindir Hospital and Zonguldak Karaelmas University, Ankara, Turkey.
