Primary Care Fellows 2009-2010
Tara Merritt, M.D.
Dr. Tara Merritt was born and raised in Georgia. She Attended the
University of Alabama on a Track and Cross Country scholarship and majored
in Biology. Upon completion of her bachelors degree,she worked as a
pharaceutical sales rep for 1 year until attending medical school at St.
George's University. Following medical school, she completed a Med/peds
residency at the University of Kentucky and is board certified in both
specialties. From there, she moved to Athens Ga and has been practicing
Internal Medicine and Pediatrics for 3 years prior to fellowship. Dr.
Merritt is married to Dr. Mark Mills and they have a son, Nathan. She is
an avid runner and triathlete who enjoys staying fit and spending time with
her family.
Dave Scott, M.D.
Dr. Scott is a native of New Jersey. Upon completion of his undergraduate
work at Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA, he was awarded a Pre-Doctoral
Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda
Maryland, where he stayed for nearly two years. Dr. Scott then returned to
Norfolk to complete medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School, and
he most recently completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte NC. Dr. Scott is a
veteran of several marathons, a former high school and collegiate lacrosse
player, and an avid golfer.
