Today the Steadman Hawkins Fellowship program
is considered one of the top sports
medicine fellowship programs in the world. As part of
the comprehensive Fellowship
program, the orthopaedic surgeons chosen to participate
refine their surgery skills
while conducting research into disease, treatment and
prevention.
Labs for bioskills training and research in the upstate
of South Carolina are being
developed. These labs will have state-of-the-art equipment
and will provide facilities
for training in techniques, developing new techniques
and becoming proficient with
new technologies available to orthopedic surgeons, vascular
surgeons, general surgeons, and allied health professionals.
These labs will be part of the audio-video broadband network
being developed by the University Medical Center at Greenville.
This development will allow the educational experience
to be broadcast to health care
professionals in numerous locations.
Exciting new musculoskeletal imaging labs are under way
in the Carolinas. These labs
will allow musculoskeletal radiologists, orthopaedists,
neurosurgeons, vascular surgeons and others who use imaging
as part of their clinical practice to develop techniques
and collaborate with radiologists for training experiences
which will enhance the knowledge . |
