Cartilage Healing & Regeneration |Making the old new again

In the past, a damaged knee would eventually become worse, pain would increase and mobility would become limited. As the condition grew more severe, it often led to knee replacement surgery. However, research into an exciting biological procedure known as cartilage regeneration could make knee replacement almost obsolete. Research shows that tissue is arthoscopically removed from an injured knee that can be used to cultivate new cells which are then returned to the injury site to aid in repairing the damaged tissue. Studies indicate that the immune system is less likely to reject cells derived from your own body.
